i was in victoria earlier this week to attend my sister's convocation ceremony.
graduating 'with distinction', she received the degree of bachelor of social work from the university of victoria.
the recipient of the honorary doctor of laws was deepa mehta - who addressed the graduates with an inspiring and moving speech.
