rapunzel, rapunzel

hadley had her heart set on a rapunzel birthday cake - 

discovered while flipping thru the pages 

of the 'cake binder' at safeway.  

i couldn't bring myself to buying the cake 

- it was $64.99! 

+ homemade cakes are so much better.

the turret was made from an recycled paper tube 

+ chris found a tiny rapunzel at the toy store.

the cake was dark chocolate layered with
chocolate chip mint icecream.
  

maybe not the prettiest of cakes - but it was delicious!  

[i should have frozen the cake layers 

before layering with ice cream - next time!].
